We have moved!

Combatants Keep headquarters have moved to Conover Oh. If you would like to see the new farm please contact us to set an appointment. We are working on getting the store up to ready to lauch. The new workshops are in place and ready for action. We are taking orders for the new year, just drop us a line. And if anyone wants to donate fencing or labor, we would be happy to accept !

The weather spared us and gave a beautiful weekend for a good time. Ed and Nancy always throw a fantastic event and take care of everyone. I hope everyone enjoyed watching the joust as much as we did performing it. It you have any pics you would like to share feel free to send us an email.

Why we trail ride

We trail ride for many reasons, the biggest is it if fun. It is so good for the horses and riders to get out of the arena. You get to enjoy nature while becoming a better rider. You and the horse get great exercise negotiating the terrain and experience handling various obstacles. We will sometimes ride in armor as well, this will teach you everything good and bad about your harness. So get out and enjoy!

Well, it’s been a busy time for CK members. Ryan’s little Gwen got hurt on a gate (she’ll be fine), Troy was made an uncle for the second time (congrats Cara!) and another fight and riding practice is in the books. Bud is learning quickly and I think is finally convinced that the quintain won’t eat him. Pete remembered everything and was a trooper, now to teach him to go a little faster (and keep from bucking) The squires are going to put on quite the show at Ashville, so try to make it to see them.

Fight Practice 3/14/11

Another practice in the books and I believe everyone who was there had a blast. We started with quintain practice. Victoria was riding aside, just to see how it felt and Troy was bareback. Bud did great only being surprised by the bag touching his behind once. Then we worked the ground fights, everyone is doing great and the fights are looking awesome.

Ashville Viking Festival 2011 food drive

Hello everyone, I would like to propose a food drive for Ashville. The event benefits the local food pantry there and I am asking members of CK and anyone who attends to bring as much unperishable food as you can. I understand times are tough, but if we all bring $5-$10 worth of food imagine the difference we could make for someone really in need. I would love to present with a very large box of food to Ed when we arrived. If you cannot make it but want to help please contact me, Kim Nader, I will coordinate donations and food for Ashville.

Snow Ponies

The horses ebnjoyed getting out into the new snow after our most recent snow fall. They had to stay in for a day so they were quite happy to get out and play.
